Terms of use

About these terms

These terms apply to your use of uk-rest.com and its restaurant sub-domains, operated by UK Rest. By using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The directory

UK Rest lists restaurants, cafés and pubs using information from public sources and from the businesses themselves. We check addresses against official postcode data and show the source and date of our information, but details such as opening hours, menus and prices change. Always confirm important details with the restaurant before you travel or book.

Some content is clearly labelled as estimated, such as typical dishes and popular times. It is general guidance and does not describe a specific restaurant.

A listing does not mean that we endorse or recommend a business, and we are not party to any booking or purchase you make with a restaurant.

Listings for businesses

Listings are free. Business owners may claim, correct or ask us to remove their listing through our contact form. We may ask for proof that you represent the business. We may edit or decline submitted content that is inaccurate, unlawful or misleading.

By sending us text or photos you confirm that you have the right to do so and grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish them on the site.

Intellectual property

The design and original text of the site belong to UK Rest. Data from the Food Standards Agency is used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Data from OpenStreetMap is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database Licence. Photos from Wikimedia Commons are used under the licences shown next to them.

Advertising and links

The site shows advertising, which is always labelled. Links to restaurants' websites and other sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse the site, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, sending spam through our forms or copying the directory in bulk by automated means.

Our liability

We provide the site free of charge and on an “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information on the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you have to bring proceedings in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
